Reduction of manufacturing Process & Cost for JUTE sacks [Hemless bag & its testing]
Nov 9, 2016

Presented by Mr. Kaustav Roy, Research Assistant, IJIRA on 09th Nov. 2016

An attempt has been made for establishing the minimum strength required at the mouth of the 50 kg jute bag and thereby justifying the concept of using Hemless bag technique by an experimental method. The mentioned concept has been discussed in this presentation.

Focused on the practical application of Bioremediation.
Nov 2, 2016

Presented by Mr Sayon Neogi, Research Assistant, IJIRA  on 2nd  November, 2016

The presentation focused on the practical application of Bioremediation that is the process of use of either naturally occurring or deliberately introduced microorganisms to consume and break down environmental pollutants into less or almost non-toxic metabolites, in order to clean a polluted site. Nowadays, textile industrial effluents contributes to huge amount of water pollution because of the use of carcinogenic aromatic and azo dyes and heavy metals. Bioremediation can be applied to these textile industrial effluents successfully by implementation of the four following phenomenon- Biodegradation, Biosorption, Phytoremediation and Microbial Enzymatic Treatment. Besides microorganisms, jute stick powder can also be used as a source of adsorption of textile effluents.

Third Generation Regenerated Cellulose from Imidazolium based Ionic Liquids
Oct 19, 2016

Presented by Dr Sanip Bose, Scientist, IJIRA on 19th Oct. 2016

The presentation was delivered on application of ionic liquids for making regenerated cellulose fibre. It was discussed that ionic liquids are a novel material which retains the degree of polymerization of native cellulose chain and hence the regenerated fibres obtained are having improved mechanical properties.

Resin transfer Moulding (RTM) Technology & its application in Jute Composite
Oct 5, 2016

Presented by Smt. Mamata Sarkar, Scientinst, IJIRA  on 5th October, 2016

The paper was focused on compatibility of using jute fabric in Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM), its properties and application and scope of using modern upgraded RTM machine for manufacturing of jute based composite with property realization.

Standard Procedure of Inspection of B. Twill Jute Bags
Sep 22, 2016

Presented by Mr. Palash Paul, Scientinst, IJIRA  on 22nd September, 2016

The presentation covered in detail the various stages of inspection of B. Twill jute bags; sampling criteria, selection of bags, assessment of fabric & bag fault, measurement of physical properties, determination of breaking strength, etc. The present facilities of IJIRA as well as IJIRA’s experience in jute bag inspection were also discussed in details.
