My great grandfather and I went to a gas station every day for 7 years since I was 5 years old after that we went to a bar everyday for a burger and breakfast we probably stayed for 2 hours each day of the week end anyways we listened to this song a lot the gambler too he died of a stressed induced stroke and pneumonia after having gambled away 100000 dollars he had a dark past but he more than made up for it when I was around him he taught me important things like how to talk and treat woman with respect and how to fix things how to mow and how to drive tractors and when to fertilize grass and how to approach a horse and how to move ice with a tiller I learned how to start fires and create burn piles and how to build and fix fences after his death the most important thing I learned was don’t waste any time with the people you love that dont last for ever the reason I think we listened to this song so much is because his wife died of dementia he had 3 children and a lot of land to take care of 1 of his children died in a fire because he saved his dog the fire started from a cigarette my grandfather stopped smoking right there and then his sons death broke his two daughters one was molested and was messed up in the head for life the other felt empathetic to her dads struggles and brother and sisters struggle they went into self destruct mode and they haven’t recovered yet this song gets to me every time I’ll always miss him and he taught me how to be the man I am today of which I can say that I am proud to be

You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille. With four hungry children and a crop in the field. I have had some bad times, lived through some sad times, but this time your hurting wont heal……..Eiish so sad and quietly you realize you have tears in your eyes
