THE CONTRACT SAVED THE CITY ABOUT $10,000.>>>KINDERGARTEN TO 12th GRADE TEACHERS FROM BEMIDJI, SOLWAY AND LAPORTE SCHOOLS GATHERED TOGETHER TO USE AGRICULTURE AS A TOOL TO HELP STUDENTS ACHIEVE ACADEMIC STANDARDS IN SUBJECTS LIKE SCIENCE, MATH AND HEALTH. THE AGRICULTURE IN THE CLASSROOM PROGRAM WANTS STUDENTS TO BECOME MORE FAMILIAR WITH WHERE THEIR FOODS COME FROM. TEACHERS AT LAPORTE PUBLIC SCHOOLS STARTED A SCHOOL GARDEN AND SHARED HOW THEY HAVE INTEGRATED IT INTO THEIR CLASSROOM CURRICULUM.>>WITH THE AG IN THE CLASSROOM PROGRAM IS BUILDING AWARENESS AND APPRECIATION FOR AGRICULTURE.
