Taylor Honey Farm @ Ypsilanti Farmers Markets

My name is Neil Taylor and I’ve been a
beekeeper since 1970 when I started. The farm is called the Taylor Honey Farm. We sell all kinds of honey and beeswax and even sometimes equipment if people want
some equipment. The importance of bees is pollination for food. As much as people think bees are no good for anything but stinging them they’re
basically very good for everybody. Right now we just have last year’s honey but we have throughout the year like right now the bees are starting to make a
little honey on some of the plants so if you extract, say honey in June it’s
different than that in July and in July is different than that from the next
month or next month so whatever the dominant floral at the
area you’re in is is primarily what honey you’ll make.
