I did a few Jomon pieces for my 3year study in Ceramics. Our tutor told us to choose an era from three different countries. I fired the pieces in a pit kiln to get the coloration right with a foot of the bowl having a light pinkish touch and the top part black from the reduction And it looked amazing. I even did a three part painting from it and told the story of the bowl as a simple vessel with a sacred mission. I love Jomon, but I am German. Greetings from the Pacific and all the best with your ceramic art. Rita
