Unboxing Mars SP 250 – Como trasplantar y regar una planta de cannabis

In this video we have the opportunity to
talk a little about indoor cultivation with special focus on light
that plants need we will see a small unboxing of LED grow light of
Mars Hydro’s, we’ll talk of the recommendations to make a
transplant and finally, we can talk on how to water a cannabis plant
and the main differences between a irrigation inside and one outside
besides talking a little about the importance of genetics that is
cultivating This unboxing is going to be very fast and will be supervised by our expert in
boxes and crops this is a light from the SP series of Mars Hydro specifically the SP-250 that it’s a LED light for growth, in
previous videos we mentioned that the plant leaves act as panels
solar when grown inside is necessary to have a special light
talking in detail about a light of growth it should be noted that
growers around the world go testing not only with LED lights such as
of this type but they are testing combinations, for example, combination of
a LED light with a sodium light, among others. If you have some experience in cultivation
inside some parameters like: PAR, PPF, or PPFD should be
relatives, something we don’t worry about outdoor crops ,
these parameters can cover a video complete but in this case we only
we will concentrate on the PPFD to make a brief introduction. The PPFD: Photosyntetic Photon Flux Density or the photon flow density
photosynthetic is the amount of photons that hit a surface in a second
given is measured in umol. We also have the provision a
2 x 4 grow tent, in centimetres it’s 60 x 120 x 180, the
PPFD table that provides the company tells us the amount of
PPFD in a certain area already a distance, in this case 18inch
or an approximate of 46cm, usually flexometers or tape measures have at least these two systems, both for
measure in centimeters as to inches, you can use the system that
you think more convenient, but, many tools usually use
inches, we see how the PPFD goes decreasing as you move away from
center of the area, some pages of internet mention 306 umol, a
minimum for the vegetative period and 463 for the flowering period in summary
seems to meet expectations, but, the interesting thing will be to test it,
in Mexico I would like to opt for a hybrid system, between indoor and
outdoor, to optimize the process. Cultivators are also very common
that they have during the first months indoor cultivation and later
they pass it to outdoor, you can also use to extend the vegetative period,
use it on the dark days of the period winter or take precautions during
rainy or low periods end of the year temperatures.
Anyway, let’s try quickly during some days the advance of a plant
from its germination, we see that the light correctly fulfills its function,
this light recommends that in this phase the light is 18 inches from
distance now I would like to show you other clips of two different varieties
that are literally the same age and they are in the same type of
substrate and now under the LED light and inside the closet the same
environmental conditions, we can observe as the
days the notorious difference between a variety and other and the possibility to reach from 16 to 18 hours of uninterrupted light helps quite a lot
plant development and in these cases is where a plant can be detected
mother if it turns out to be a female and we can only take cuttings
of a variety that we have noticed has superior performance compared to
other species. I hope this clarifies a bit when I
they ask the question about advice when you see a more developed plant in the
same period, the genetics and quality of the seed has a great impact, it is possible
that you are giving the best care But genetics is not the best.
Let’s move on to the transplant, before transplanting it is necessary to fill
the new pot with the substrate, there are various methods: can be filled
completely the substrate pot and subsequently make the hole to
place the plant or fill until height where you want the
transplant and then fill as in this case, depends on your taste and your
transplant skills To get a successful transplant is
recommended to reduce transplants, it is say, try to germinate in a small
glass for the root to develop and just perform a transplant to the medium
definitive where the plant will grow that prevent you from performing transplants
unnecessary and you risk that during the process the root is damaged, use
specialized seedbeds or even as in this case small packages of yogurt
that you can even break if you feel very insecure, they provide you with the space
to get to the beginning of the stage vegetative, if you already have experience
the transplant can be quickly wet or dry, but most
It is recommended that the substrate is slightly damp With kindness try
to detach the earth from the surface internal vessel deforming
slightly, pass your fingers in between of the leaf stem so that the
palm of your hand can hold what get out of the pot, if you can have help
additional is much better, the greater risk root damage occurs
if the contents of the pot taking with it part of the
root, if you have help you can ask him to take care
that does not crumble, then passes carefully plant to your new home and ends watering, in the case of indoor crops are necessary
adjust the height of the light again, it should be noted that this is spectrum
complete, in case you have any pet is recommended don’t let her get close, since the light is very intense and in the specific case of cats
they have very light sensitive eyes it is also advisable to wear glasses when
work with this light for the same reason. Now let’s talk about watering a
plant, is a complicated issue since in at some point I also asked myself: did each
how much? and how?, unfortunately how often? it’s a question that can only be
answer in an environment completely controlled, which is difficult and expensive
of getting, but, what we can do to do is to take into account certain guidelines
to decide when and how to water.
Let’s start with a little experiment to clarify some things and that is
recommended, in addition to being a technique quite common, which is to decide by
the weight of the pot, these two pots they have the same life time and the
same substrate but, we can perceive that one weighs more than the other, since one of
the substrates are wetter than the other, let’s adjust a little by watering one of
the pots adding more water, although it´s no exact, the change will be quite
remarkable since in the led light and in the specific case of this indoor no
provides great heat intensity unlike the one in the
exterior that has already passed the same amount of time while one was
in the indoor with the LED light and the other was outside with sunlight.
If we weigh them again we see how the from abroad for obvious reasons has
reduced its weight since the water has evaporated from the substrate, it was quite
apart from the one that occupied the plant itself while the one that was under the
LED barely had a slight change. This means that, depending on the
environment, even in outdoor climates where the days are sometimes very cloudy,
there is drizzle or rain they are a very important variable for
keep in mind that indoor crops there is also the
difference between LED lights and lights of sodium, or a combination of these. In
the issue of irrigation we can find two extremes: one is to be very
wet and the other that is very dry, generally agrees
handle more at the end where you found dry since the excess of
humidity has more consequences difficult to handle, can be used
also the method of putting your finger in the substrate and check if the substrate continues
wet even depending on whether the substrate allows it, you can also do
this experiment: with the substrate only without the plant test first in the
dry substrate stick a stick and when take it out see how it looks
subsequently wet the substrate and repeat. You should notice that it is relatively more
easy to sink the stick into a substrate dry than in a wet one
besides that the texture of the stick is different when leaving the wet substrate,
curiously different from what’s up between humans, where more moisture is more
easy to sink, here we can see the test and check that even though the
substrate seemed dry on the surface below is still wet.
When watering it is important to have a lot patience, the most important thing is to water
slowly trying not to flood and take into account the volume of the pot
and the size of the root of the plant, by example, if the plant is very small
you don’t really need to fix all the substrate while in one more plant
the root must have already been spread on the substrate in greater
proportion, we talked about that during germination and seedling phase is
recommended to be in 90% humidity then there is no problem watering
slowly until you see the water start filtering from the bottom
in the vegetative and flowering phase we we can keep at 50% then
we have a very wide margin for detect when we should water in addition to
take into account what we saw with the initial experiment and take into account if
we are inside or outside, the weather conditions and type of light
that is used, in this case the LED light allows us
leave the plants without watering for several days since the substrate retains
well the humidity and the LED light does not emit very hot to evaporate great
part of the water, as we mentioned is better handle at the end where the
substrate is dry and combine the techniques that we mentioned in the
case of indoor cultivation an error very frequent is always water to much, frequently at the beginning of the crop, the plant can have the fallen leaves that so
general is a sign that it is missing watering but if the leaves start to
swelling is likely that irrigation is being excessive and it is best to take it outside to seek evaporation from water to make the correction. The
plant usually has no problems within 2 to 3 days after
irrigation in a climate of 21 to 22 degrees this time lapse is greater to the interior with a light
LED like the one in this video. I hope you liked the video and
clarified some doubts instead of increase if you are interested in a light like
