Zoo Med Reptile Electrolyte Soak

Oh, hi! I’m Ashley from Zoo Med, and you
caught me preparing a warm bath for our Beardie friend using Zoo Med’s Reptile
Electrolyte Soak. A lot of reptiles can benefit from the occasional soak. It’s a
gentle and non-invasive way to keep them hydrated, it can help soften their loose
skin if they’re having trouble shedding, and it can also encourage relieving of
waste if they’re having minor intestinal troubles. It’s also a great way to
hydrate and relax new pets that may be stressed from traveling, aid pets as they
change their diet, and support sick pets as they recover. Zoo Med’s Reptile Electrolyte Soak is
specially formulated for a reptile’s unique chemistry, and helps supercharge the
benefits of these special bath times. The Reptile Electrolyte Soak is chock-full
of beneficial electrolytes, vitamins, and pre and probiotics for your pet that can
help boost immunity, strengthen internal systems, and increase feeding responses
and hydration. Electrolytes are essential minerals that help manage the pH levels
of many processes of the body, like the nervous system and muscle movement. The Soak also includes a variety of vitamins that aid in your pet’s color
pigmentation, metabolism, and their immune system. And pre and probiotics team up as beneficial bacteria that aid in your pet’s gastrointestinal health and digestion.
Now that all sounds great but you may be asking yourself- But wait! Not all reptiles absorb nutrients through their skin! How could they benefit from this
soak? …And you’d be right. Some reptiles, like our Beardie friend, can’t absorb
nutrients from their skin. However, all reptiles DO ingest from their mouth.
Regardless of how these nutrients get to them, regularly soaking them in an
Electrolyte treated bath will increase their chances of them receiving these
helpful micronutrients. Setting up a soak is easy. First add one scoop of Reptile
Electrolyte Soak for every gallon of warm bath water you’re planning on using, and mix thoroughly. Find a tray large enough to fit your pet and fill it with
the warm bath water, just enough so your pet can sit in it without being
completely submerged. Place your pet into the bath, and supervise them for 10
minutes as they soak in the enriching micronutrients. We recommend a weekly
soak, but your reptile can safely be soaked up to 3 times a week
depending on their unique condition. Zoo Med’s Reptile Electrolyte Soak is
available in 3 sizes and is a shelf-stable powder that doesn’t expire. And again, this is a reptile specific
soak solution that should not be used with amphibians, fish, or any other
species that isn’t a reptile. That’s all for now, thanks again for tuning in. We’ll
see you next time.
